Pioneer Century Route Description
The Pioneer Century is named to reflect the history of the Champoeg, Canby and Molalla areas. Rich farmland and timber brought the pioneers to this area and this same beauty draws cyclists today. The Pioneer Century offers great routes whether you seek a social ride or personal best.
55-Mile Route
The challenging 55 mile loop explores the Molalla-Canby area. With such little traffic...you’ll think that you are hearing the Conestoga wagons of the pioneers over the hum of your tires! Idyllic farmland gives way to forests of fir with Mt. Hood peeking over the Cascade foothills as you ascend to Kokel Corner. On your return to the Willamette Valley you will be rewarded with some sweeping descents snaking down forested corridors toward Scotts Mills. Relax and enjoy the last few miles of quiet valley roads into the fairgrounds. This route features a gradual three mile climb up Sawtell hill into Christmas tree heaven.
45-Mile Route
You can follow our "Dan Henrys'" (road markings) to keep you on the right trail. The bucolic 45-mile loop is more rural than remote. Cycle past fields of hops, dairies, farmland, and farm stands. You’ll pass Champoeg State Park, home to the first government in the Oregon territory. Experience the smells, sights, and sounds of the Champoeg region… this is the Eden at the end of the Oregon Trail. This route is mostly flat with a few whoop-dee-doos into creek beds as you cross French Prairie.
32-Mile Route
The pastoral 32 mile course gives you all the rural splendor and quiet roads of the 55 mile route without the Sawtell climb! It’s not flat...there are rollers galore on this route.
77-Mile Route
The 77 mile option combines the 32 and 45 mile routes. Cyclists must ride the 32 mile route first so that rest stops are open at the end of their ride.
100-Mile Route
The 100 mile option combines the 55 and 45 mile routes. Cyclists must ride the 55 mile route first so that rest stops are open at the end of their ride.
Rules of the Road and Rest Stop Hours
Rules of the Road:

Course & registration open at 7:00am.
· 32, 55, 77 & 100 registration closes at 9:00 am; riders must leave fairgrounds by 9:00am.
· 45 registration closes at 10:00 am; riders must leave fairgrounds by 10:00am.
· 100 milers are required to ride the 55-mile route first.
· 77 milers are required to ride the 32-mile route first.
Rules of the Rest Stops:
· Sawtell rest stop closes at 12:00pm
· Meridian rest stop closes at 1:30pm
· St. Paul rest stop closes at 3:30pm
· Fairground/course closes at 5:30pm

Lunch Description
Our pivotal rest stop at the Clackamas Fairgrounds is a highlight of the Pioneer Century.
An expert crew will be preparing lunch with all the fixins'!
Lunch will be served between 10:30am and 2:00pm. The Pioneer Century lunch is limited. We have served 1250 and had a bit left over. Register early, same day registrants will get a lunch tag until the limit is reached.
While the lunch is a treat, other renowned sponsors provide food and beverages at the various rest
stops and the fairgrounds. You won't go hungry!
